One of the top performing pop rock artists in the music industry is Gavin Shane DeGraw or popularly known as Gavin DeGraw. The 35-year-old singer-songwriter started his music career in 2000 but only became popular in 2003. His rose to prominence started when his song entitled “I Don’t Want to Be” was used as the theme song of One Tree Hill, a teen drama that had a run from 2003-2012. Aside from his song being used in the said television show, it was also utilized as a contest piece for aspiring musicians in American Idol and Idol Sweden. Since the music career of Gavin DeGraw started in early 2000s, he was able to release four studio albums and one EP. His studio albums are Chariot, Gavin DeGraw, Free, and Sweeter.

Chariot was released in July 22, 2003 under the music label J. This album was able to sell more than one million copies and got a platinum certification. An acoustic version of this album was released in 2004 entitled Chariot Stripped. Some of the popular songs from this album are “I Don’t Want to Be”, “Follow Through”, and “Chariot”. It took five years before DeGraw was able to release his second album, which is a self-titled one. This album was released to the market in May 6, 2008 under the same label as his first album. When this album made its debut, it was No. 1 on the digital sales chart and No. 7 on the Billboard Top 200 album. Among the famous songs from this album are “In Love with a Girl” and “Cheated on Me”. Coinciding with his second album is the EP Live from Soho, which was released in iTunes.

After almost a year, the third album of DeGraw was released. Free was released on March 31, 2009 under the Label J, which turned out to be his last one for them. A number of the songs in this album were written by DeGraw like “Dancing Shoes” and “Glass”. One of its most popular songs is “Stay”. This was the fastest album produced by DeGraw, when it was made in less than two weeks in a Brooklyn studio.

Gavin DeGraw transferred to RCA Records for his fourth album Sweeter, which was released in September 20, 2011. Four of the tracks in this album were co-written by DeGraw with other artists like Ryan Tedder and Andrew Frampton. The songs include “Sweeter”, “Not Over You”, “Run Every Time”, and “Spell It Out”.

Form all the songs of DeGraw, five of them was able to reach either Gold or Platinum certifications. “I Don’t Want to Be” and “Not Over You” reached Platinum while “Chariot”, “Follow Through”, and “We Belong Together” reached Gold.

At present, DeGraw is going to have a music tour with fellow musician Colbie Caillat from June until August. He would also have concerts in European countries such as Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, and Netherlands.
