Country music remains as a very prominent part of the American music scene. It has produced a multitude of well-known artists in the past, including those who have crossed over into the mainstream music industry. Among the brighter stars of today is the 29 year old Texas native, Miranda Lambert.
Lambert was born and raised in the state of Texas although she herself was born in Longview and then later raised in Lindale. Lambert became developed her love of music from an early age, but to be more specific, she fell in love with the country style of music. Lambert began honing her musical gifts early on and she even ended up making her professional debut as a singer while she was still in high school.
Her high school singing debut was only a sign of things to come as she continued to pursue a career in music. By 2003, she entered “Nashville Star”, a talent competition featuring some of the best and youngest talents of the music industry. Lambert would make an impression upon audiences during her stay in the competition as she ended up placing in third. Later on in that same year, Lambert found herself signing with Epic Records to become the label’s newest country star. She would deliver upon that hope with her album entitled “Kerosene”. The album became a hit in the country charts climbing all the way to number one. It was an impressive debut for Lambert, and a lot of it was thanks to the success of her debut single “Me and Charlie Talking”. She also had a hand in the creation and development of the album as she co-wrote eleven of the album’s twelve tracks. The album eventually gained platinum status back in 2008, and in the years before then, Lambert would join big country names on tour such as Keith Urban and Toby Keith. Lambert’s sophomore offering contained her most successful single from a charting standpoint. “Gunpowder & Lead” has remained as one of her most famous singles to date. Just as with her debut album, Lambert remained prominently involved in the album’s conception as she had a hand in writing eight of the album’s eleven tracks. Lambert began working on her third album back in February of 2009, and in September of that very same year, she would come out with “Revolution”. The album garnered widespread acclaim from many of the music industry’s critics, and it was the latest in a long line of successes for a beloved country singer. Lambert has since released her fourth album entitled “Four the Record” and she even showcased the launch of her new musical group “Pistol Annies” in that same year.
Lambert remains as one of the prominent faces in the country music industry. Her marriage to country superstar Blake Shelton has also made them into country royalty. Her unique take on the country genre has allowed Lambert to distinguish herself from the pack, and she figures to remain a country darling for the years to come.
