Jimmy Buffett, folk-rock singer/songwriter will be having concerts on the opening months of 2012 in Florida and South Carolina. Now if you’ll ask me, here are some of the few reasons why should you buy Jimmy Buffett tickets for his concert.
Aside from being a restaurateur, Jimmy Buffet is best known for being musician whose career came into being in 1970. That year, he released his debut folk-rock album Down to Earth and enlisted hits such as Margaritaville and Come Monday. The former was included in the twenty-fourth spot the Recording Industry Association of America list of Songs of the Century. Island escapism has been the trademark feel of almost all of his songs. He has successfully combines country, folk, and pop music together with coastal and tropical lyrical rhymes which he call “gulf and western”.
After the Down to Earth album, he released an album in 1973 called A White Sport Coat and a Pink Crustacean, succeeded by two more albums a year later which were called Living and Dying in ¾ Time and A1.A. This was followed by Havana Daydreamin’ in 1976 and Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitudes in 1977. The latter featured the much hit song Margaritaville.
The eighties continued to be a golden decade for Jimmy Buffett as he had several concerts and tours which gave him even more success during the first twenty years of his musical career. Later on, he moved out of his box and tried his luck in songwriting and business. He put up a restaurant named after his hit song. He called the store Margaritaville Café, which was located in Key West.
Jimmy Buffett also released a Christmas Album entitled Christmas Island which was followed by another rout-of-character album Parakeets, a collection of songs he wrote sung by children containing “cleaned-up” lyrics.
His active musical career went on like there’s no tomorrow. Presently, he has released a total of thirty albums. Eight of them reached gold, and nine multi-platinum albums. He won his very first Country Music Award for his song “It’s 5’oclock Somewhere” with Alan Jackson. He was nominated again in CMA in 2007 for his song “Hey Good Lookin’”.
He is now involved with two restaurant chains both named after two of his songs; the other is Cheeseburger in Paradise aside from the Margaritaville. His other restaurants also have the same tropical feel which is his trademark. Jimmy proves that a person can be successful in more than a single industry as long as one is willing to put in everything he love for it.
As for his musical career, Jimmy Buffett will be having a series of concerts in January 28, 2012 at American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, January 30, 2012 in Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville Florida, Februrary 2, 2012 in North Charleston Coliseum in South Carolina and February 4, 2012 in Amway Center Orlando Florida.
