A Recap of Chicago Blackhawk’s Success Last Year

The year 2013 was a time of tremendous success for the Chicago Blackhawks. The team set a new National Hockey League (NHL) record when they won against the Red Wings and started the season 6-0-0 during the first month of the year. The next month marked their success in earning 29 points in the season’s first 16 consecutive games. This made them broke the record set by the Anaheim Ducks. Shortly after that, the team once again set a new record when they won their 10th consecutive game, which was against the Minnesota Wild. This winning streak extended up to 24 consecutive wins – the third longest winning streak in the history of NHL – and ended when they lost against the Colorado Avalanche.

Chicago BlackhawksThanks to the innovative policies and outstanding strategies introduced by Rocky Wirtz into the team after succeeding his father on the Chicago Blackhawks ownership. The Blackhawks became victorious for earning the 2012-2013 President’s Trophy for the league’s best regular season record. They may almost get eliminated after the series opener, but they were able to claw back against the Detroit Red Wings and won the next 4 consecutive games of the series. A series-clinching goal by Brent Seabrook was said to be responsible for the overtime of Game 7 where they got the chance to score for the series win.

On June 8, 2013, the Chicago Blackhawks faced the LA Kings for the Game 5 of the Conference Final. They successfully won again with a 4-3 standing, which made them enter the

Stanley Cup Final for the second time in the last 4 seasons. Just like the Blackhawks, the Boston Bruins also made their second appearance in the Stanley Cup Final. These two teams battled for the Stanley Cup, resulting to a 3-2 win for the Chicago Blackhawks. Because of all these winnings, the Blackhawks became the first team since 2005 to win multiple times during the Post-Lockout Era. This year also ended with several new records in the NHL history set by this team. That’s why the games of Chicago Blackhawks are now among the must-watch in the league.
