Boston started the season slow winning only three of their first 10 games. There were already questions surrounding the Bruins whether they could really defend the title. After that forgettable October, the team regrouped and went on a roll in November. The Bruins started the month winning ten straight games, with four games coming from the road. For that month, the Bruins won 12 of their 13 scheduled games. December was yet again another solid outing for the six-time Stanley Cup champions. They won nine of their 12 games for that month highlighted by a seven game winning streak. Through January, the boys from TD Garden are 5-2 with six more games remaining. Four of the six remaining games are on the road.

In terms of the road record of the Bruins, they are currently 13-5-0. They are the only team with no overtime losses on the road with an above .500 record. Owners of Boston Bruins tickets need not to worry about their team playing on the road evidenced by their good record. The Bruins also proved that they can win in the bigger stage on the road after defeating the Vancouver Canucks in last season’s title clinching game. At home Boston is as good as they are on the road. Their record in TD Garden is 16-7-1.

Statistically, Boston is among the leaders and their players are also filling up the stat sheet. They are currently number one in terms of Goals Per Game with 3.5 as well as in Goals Against with 2.0.  Boston also leads the entire league in total Goals with 153 and Goals Against with 83. By virtue of their Goals and Goals Against statistic, they also lead the league in Goal Differential with a whopping 70 points, 27 more than the second place Detroit Red Wings.

Individually, Boston players are showing their dominance. Its 19-year-old sophomore Tyler Seguin is leading the league in plus or minus average with 35, seven more than the second place. This is a great improvement from what he had last year when he registered a -4 average. Next to Seguin in the rankings are teammates Patrice Bergeron followed by Brad Marchand, and Zdeno Chara. The top four rankings in the plus or minus rankings are all from the Bruins. Talk about dominance.

Goaltender Tuuka Rask is the top defenseman this season having a Goals Against Average of 1.61. He also leads the league in Saves Percentage at a staggering .946 average. Teammate Tim Thomas comes in second with a .937 average.
