The suspended Washington Wizards guard told Esquire magazine that he wasn't using "longevity thinking" when he took out four guns in what he says was an attempt to play a prank on teammate Javaris Crittenton in December.
  • Lakers win ninth straight over Warriors (AP) Kobe Bryant is happy to be done with the Golden State Warriors so the Los Angeles Lakers can prepare for what they might actually see come playoff time next month. Bryant scored 29 points and the Lakers dominated the boards to overcome a turnover-plagued night and beat the Warriors for the ninth straight time, 124-121 on Monday night.
  • Brooks' jumper gets Rockets past Nuggets (AP) Don't tell the Houston Rockets they are out of the playoff picture just yet. Aaron Brooks swished a jumper with 2.9 seconds left and scored 31 points to help the Rockets rally for a 125-123 victory over Denver on Monday night, snapping the Nuggets' six-game winning streak. Carmelo Anthony scored 45 points for the Nuggets, but missed a 3-point try at the buzzer.
  • Shaq rejoins Cavs, not ready to play (AP) Injured Cleveland center Shaquille O'Neal has rejoined the Cavaliers. O'Neal, who has been out since tearing a ligament in his thumb on Feb. 25 and undergoing surgery, has been resting at home in Florida since the operation. He was back at the team's facility on Monday, but did not speak to reporters after the Cavs practiced and left for a game in Detroit.
  • Balanced Celtics cruise past Pistons (AP) Doc Rivers knows the current Celtics aren't as good as the team that won the NBA title in 2008. His goal is to have them playing that way again in time for the playoffs. "It's coming around," Rivers said Monday night after Paul Pierce scored 12 points in the first quarter to set up a 119-93 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
