Green Bay Packers Look To Erase Stunning Loss on Christmas Day

On Christmas Day, Green Bay Packers tickets will again be a sold out as league leading Packers take on division foe Chicago Bears. Despite having the upper hand in terms of the season standings, Green Bay won’t take Chicago lightly. Just like what happened to their last game against American Football Conference West Division bottom feeder Kansas City Chiefs, the Packers did not take the game seriously which stained their almost perfect season.

Carrying a 13-game winning streak in a matchup against the Chiefs, the boys from Lambeau Field wasn’t their usual selves scoring a season-low 14 points before losing by five points. Green Bay’s lowest scoring output this season is only27 which already happened twice, the first one versus the Bears and the second happened versus the Detroit Tigers.

Green Bay will look to redeem themselves on Christmas Day to further hold on to that number one spot in the National Football Conference. They also want to hold on to the number one record in the entire league. If the NFL playoffs started today, Green Bay would face the 9-5 Tigers. The Packers have already clinched a playoff berth and already won the NFC North Division. Green Bay already won four NFC North division titles aside from this year.

The reigning Super Bowl champs have already won 13 league championships which tops the league. This includes nine NFL championships which is prior to the Super Bowl era.

After the Christmas showdown against the Bears, Green Bay Packers tickets would surely be sold out again as they play their final regular season game against potential playoff matchup Detroit Tigers. What’s more exciting about this game is that it will happen on New Year’s Day.

It was clear that right from the get-go, Green Bay would have targets on their backs since they are the reigning champs. But they have showed this season why they are the champs. For 14 games, they have average scoring margin of over 13 points which easily tops the league. The second closest is the New Orleans Saints at 11 a game.

With the reigning Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers manning the quarterback, there is no doubt why Green Bay has been very good this season. The AP Male Athlete of the Year for 2011 is considered as the best quarterback today due to his great vision, leadership, and overall play for the number one team in NFL today. Rodgers is now leading the entire league in Passer Rating with 120.1 which was a big jump to his 101.2 last season. The latter number placed him third behind Tom Brady and Philips Rivers.

Another player making waves for the Packers is guard T.J. Lang. The three-year veteran has been showing his versatility for the team this season. From his original position as a starting left guard, he was brought to the right tackle due to injuries on Bryan Bulaga and Derek Sherrod. Despite that major change, Lang has shown that he can handle changes which proved to be big one for the team.
