Pittsburgh Steelers Look to Avenge Super Bowl Loss Last Year With Strong Post Season

Super Bowl runner-up Pittsburgh Steelers is looking for another strong post season as they try to avenge last season’s championship loss at the hands of Green Bay Packers. Pittsburgh Steelers tickets  would surely be sell out again as they try to overcome the odds of being a lower seed in the playoffs.

Based on the playoff seeding today for the American Football Conference, the Steelers is the 5th seed and might face conference rival Baltimore Ravens. Despite having an identical record at 11-4, the Ravens won the tie breaker over the Steelers based on head-to-head win percentage. Pittsburgh has lost both games versus Baltimore 7-35 and 20-23 for the season. This is a complete reversal of what happened last season when the Steelers beat out the Ravens in the playoff seeding. The ranking was based on division games win percentage.

Having a lower seeding for the playoffs might be a good thing for the boys from Heinz Field since they thrive from these kinds of situation.

For the season, Pittsburgh has had two separate winning streaks of at least four games. The first four-game winning streak of the Steelers was from October 9 until October 30 when they beat the Tennessee Titans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals, and New England Patriots. The other four-game winning streak happened from November 13 to December 8 after winning over Cincinnati Bengals (twice), Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns. Pittsburgh has not had consecutive losing games for the season.

The Steelers has been a model of consistency during the regular season showing great teamwork on the offensive end and most especially on the defensive side of the ball. Ben Roethlisberger has always been his usual self for the Steelers. Since being drafted in 2004, Roethlisberger has been a consistent quarterback for the team. During the season, the eight-year veteran is having another terrific statistical season for his team. His completion percentage of 63.6 is currently sixth on the league and his 91.5 passing rate is seventh on the league. In the playoffs, Pittsburgh will again lean on the services of their star quarterback to lead them to their third title since he entered the league. Pittsburgh already won in 2006 and 2010.

Another player having a strong season for the team is wide receiver Antonio Brown. After their game against the St. Louis Rams, Brown became the Steelers’ all-time leader in single season all-purpose yards. During that game on Christmas Eve, Brown amassed 77 all-purpose yards which increased his total for the season to 2,048. The record Brown broke has stood since 1992 which was set by Barry Foster. The previous record was 2,034 all-purpose yards.

For the upcoming final game, Pittsburgh would face division bottom-feeder Browns on January 1 and would look to end the season on a high note. Despite playing on the road, Pittsburgh Steelers tickets will again be selling like hot cakes since they have an upper hand over their opponent.
