One more win and the Cinderella run of the Los Angeles Kingswould be completed. Los Angeles is on the verge of winning their first-ever Stanley Cup trophy if they come up with a victory on Game 4 of the Finals. After two close games in New Jersey to start the Stanley Cup Finals series, the Kings blanked out the Devils in Game 3, 4-0, to move a win away from the title. With the owners of Los Angeles Kings tickets on hand to possibly witness the city’s first ever title in NHL, it would be definitely be a tall order for New Jersey.

The Associated Press
During the entire Stanley Cup playoffs, Los Angeles has gone 15-2, going 10-0 on the road. Even though the Kings already lost twice in closeout games at home (one during the First Round versus Vancouver Canucks and another one during the Conference Finals versus Phoenix Coyotes), the team is quite confident of closing out the series at home. They need to be wary though of the possibility that New Jersey might have an upset on their sleeves. The Kings should remember that last year’s winner, the Boston Bruins, was down 0-2 before they won 4 out of the 5 remaining games to capture the title.
In case that Los Angeles finally wins it all in Game 4, they would become the first 8thseed to capture the Stanley Cup trophy in the history of the league. In the history of the Kings, they have made it only once in the Finals series prior to this season, where they lost to the Montreal Canadiens in 1993. This season, they are in a position to win it all. Ever since Los Angeles started as a franchise in 1967, they have played a total of 3,705 regular season and playoff games just to be in this position. Game No. 3,706 could turn out to be a magical one for the franchise.

Los Angeles Kings have really come a long way as a franchise. After having difficulties in making the playoffs this season, Los Angeles began to dominate once the postseason started. Once the playoffs started rolling, the Kings showed to everybody that this year is their time. Their road to the title included domination of the West’s top two seeds, Vancouver and St. Louis Blues, in the first two rounds. They also defeated division rival Phoenix Coyotes in the Conference Finals en route to their first Finals appearance in 19 years.
During the entire run of Los Angeles, there are five things that helped the team to be one win away from the title. First is the hiring of coach Darryl Stutter in December. Second is the resurgence of team captain Dustin Brown. Third is consistency during the latter part of the season and the playoffs. Fourth is playing playoff even before the postseason started. Lastly, the trade and call-ups made during the regular season.
